Balance your Life!!

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them – work, family, health, friends and spirit … and you’re keeping all of these in the air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls – family, health, friends and spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or evenshattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for Balance in your life.

How?

Don’t undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special.

Don’t set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you.

Don’t take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.

Don’t let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future. By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.

Don’t give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

Don’t be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is this fragile thread that binds us to each together.

Don’t be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be pave.

Don’t shut love out of your life by saying it’s impossible to find time. The quickest way to receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly; and the best way to keep love is to give it wings!

Don’t run through life so fast that you forget not only where you’ve been, but also where you are going.

Don’t forget, a person’s greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.

Don’t be afraid to learn. Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.

Don’t use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savoured each step of the way…

The sad story of Japan

The sad story of Japan.

The first month's rent for an apartment is equivalent to the price of 10 canned drinks dispensed by the vending machines, or slightly more than $1 !! And Japan's Housing prices are equal to where they were in the 1980's.

Many economists compare the present US economy to follow the path of Japan, should the Fed's present actions continue. And probably China is now where Japan was in the 1970's.
www.nytimes.com
For a generation, Japan has been trapped in low growth and deflation, shriveling from an economic giant to little more than an afterthought in the global economy.

When we thought we were rich

‎"cuando pensábamos que éramos ricos" or when we thought we were rich !

This is about housing in Spain; but the housing bubble is present in US, Canada, Australia, China, Hong kong and many many countries still !!

Some 1.5 million unfinished, unsold or unwanted residential units could undermine Spain's economy for years to come.

Now Trade war between China and Japan, and China tastes first victory. Bad for the world and other countries. And an all outtrade war between USA and China may not be that long away!

If you go very fast:

If you go very fast there will be too many to block you. If you go slow, you will have so many followers,(probably because) they can't overtake you and you are blocking their progress. If you are ahead of your time, no one will understand you. if you are behind time, you will be a messiah. So follow no one, but your thoughts, because they will only be with you throughout your existence.

Any news is Good News

It used to be said, "No news is good news". Well, now it is "Any news is Good News", as long as Fed is there with their quantitative easings. But how long? Risk can be asymmetric, but it can cut both ways!!

Kindle or Ipad, why not have something much bigger !

Well, if I am still an avid reader of books, which I am no longer, I will definitely opt for a kindle. And imagine 1 months battery life. That is really something. But there is only one thing. You carry one for reading books, carry another for listening to songs, yet another if you also want to watch a movie, and yet another if you also would like to check mails and whatever else you may want to do. Why can't someone make something with all these attributes and you have the world under your feet.

From USD to Euro - is it the solution?

  • From USD to Euro. But is that the answer? It can only be solved if the Asian countries join & make a common currency, or the the world bank on behalf of all the countries go for a common currency with no independent country able to print currencies on their own.

"Wonderfully incredible businesses"

Poor Warren Buffet! Not financially of course. But that must be the price you pay when you become famous. No one likes you, if you were doing things better than them. Of course he's slipping up these days.

But that can't justify his defending the Moody's and the Goldman Sachs.
www.huffingtonpost.com
Over the weekend, Warren Buffet defended Goldman Sachs. But the real jaw-dropper was Buffett's praise of Moody's Investors Service and the other credit raters as "incredibly wonderful businesses."

iPhone 4 - some thoughts

Sorry, what was that about Face Time video chat? I thought we already had it with 3G phones like P990i released 4 years back everywhere else outside US. And that with only where Wi Fi is present and from iPhone to iPhone only!! Must be because AT&T is not yet fully equipped to offer plain vanila HSPA (3G) with 7.2 MBit/sec speeds.

And Multi Tasking at last on iPhone. But why make all those who bought iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPad look silly, that they had bought them with much less features that also at prices which have now been slashed at least for 3GS. Well, iPad still don't get these, that must be their next Gen!!

And messages organized by threads -- am I smelling Google here. (GMail and Android)

Again what is missed gets into prominence. There is no provision at least now for 3G Video calling in the iPhone, though this could have been easily incorporated. But someone can always use Fring to make Video calls from iPhone!!

Of course IPS screen must be a welcome change!

Man creates life

Man creates life!

Time travel mystery unveiled! Only problem is the door to go cannot be used to come back, as these doors in a Black hole are one way only (strictly no jumping here), as known to man yet.

Well can you imagine what this can lead to? Man creates the first life in the world and travels back in time to plant it. And that means man created himself? A sample of who is first, chicken or chicken eggs?? :)

I well never sell Gold - Faber

"I well never sell Gold especially when I see these clowns in the Government."

"It is impossible for the American government to fulfill its obligations because the current deficit is already US$1.6 trillion this year.

The total US debt is already 375% of the GDP, excluding medicaid medicare and social security. If you include these, the national debt is at 600% of the GDP" ... Mark faber.

Greece is no different from other OPEC countries

“What Is The Difference Between Greece And Rest Of The OECD? Only That It Is Small Enough To Be Bailed Out” -- Societe General analyst, Dylan Grice.
"... but I still think Greece is the beginning of a wave of government funding crises, not the end."

Grice argues that most developed nations have bigger future problems than Greece, excluding the UK which has a significantly higher debt maturity date than most developed nations, taking Bloomberg's data for existing debt maturity for each government.

The Danger Line

A chart published by OECD (which link I am not able to give here), shows the relative positions of various OECD countries with respect to their financial stability (based on a chart depicting their national net public debt vs the projected annual deficit for 2010 both as percentage of GDP).

The countries which are under the safety line are marked as red and those above are marked in other colors.

In the red, in the order of their ranking from worst to better are, Japan, Greece, UK, Ireland, US, Italy, France, Portugal and Spain.

In the yellow are again from worst to better are Germany, Poland, Hungary, Netherlands and Canada.

The countries which are much better off are Australia, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland and Korea.

And the best and the one which stands out is Norway.

A Parable about Sorrowland

This is a parable about a nation by Charles Munger, a long term associate and partner of Warren Buffet. There are of course no prizes for guessing the nation!!!

Basically, It's OverA parable about how one nation came to financial ruin.

Wall Street. In the early 1700s, Europeans discovered in the Pacific Ocean a large, unpopulated island with a temperate climate, rich in all nature's bounty except coal, oil, and natural gas. Reflecting its lack of civilization, they named this island "Basicland."

Solar roadways

Solar Roadways

The Solar Roadways project aims to maximize the sun-soaking capabilities of road surfaces as a stable and secure source of clean energy.
